The school outing
Dear Sir,
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to write a report and contribute my suggestions to the end-of-term outing
Since the number of students is massive, I suggest that the outing be to just one destination. All other activities could then be organized there. I suggest that the outing be a hike from Macritchie Reservoir to the top of Bukit Timah. The classes, under the responsibility of their teachers, could embark on a study of nature and gather a list of information as decided by the Science Committee en route. There will be a lot of walking so participants should be clad in jeans and T-shirts. Each person should carry a pack with food and water. The group should be given a series of checkpoints to navigate through.
Food should be served at the Pool. This is a common checkpoint for hikers and accessible by vehicle. A picnic packet lunch with can drinks is recommended. The school buses can be used to ferry the whole group to the start point. After that the buses could go to the foot of Bukit Timah.
I anticipate that baring any group getting lost, we would all be at the top of Bukit Timah at about 4:00 pm We could be there for about two hours enjoying the scenery and resting. We could then walk to the foot of the hill to the waiting buses and come back to school.
Yours obediently,
Henry
